Parkinson’s Swindon & District and Swindon SEND Families Voice are two local groups working with us to find out the views of local people about their experience of health and care services. Both organisations are using a survey to do this and in the past few weeks they have collectively hear from 125 people.

Jacqui Watt from Families Voice said:

“Until the other day we had only been asking the odd person to complete it as the timing didn't seem appropriate to put a public request to complete it.

"Then after we had got over the constant stream of coronavirus updates from the council and government and things had settled down a bit, it seemed like a good time to post it on our Facebook page.

"If you time a post right it reaches a large number of people. I suspect people were also relieved to see something that wasn't coronavirus related too which helped get the numbers up.”

And Dave Logan from Parkinson’s said:

“That is good news, I will get the update on response so far sent out to encourage others.”

Meanwhile Jodie Bullock from Swindon and Gloucestershire MIND says:

“I am hoping to share the survey soon with our service users”.

In spite of the difficult situation, people still want to know how to pursue ongoing worries like getting access to special services because of their condition and to comment on their experience at the moment. We’re grateful to local groups helping us to make contact with people they’re in touch with.

We will be sharing the results of the community pot fund projects later on this year.

If you want to share your experiences of health and social care in Swindon speak to Jo, Vanessa, Jim or Carol.
