Annual Report 2018/19

Read our annual report for 2018/19 and find out about all the work carried out by our team and our wonderful volunteers in Swindon throughout the year.

Summary

Last year we heard from 666 people, providing 980 pieces of feedback who told us about their experience of a number of different areas of health and social care. One of the biggest issues of the year for Swindon residents was getting through to the Integrated Medical Holdings (IMH) phone hub to book a doctor's appointment.

We also partnered with Swindon Advocacy Movement (SAM) to carry out Enter and View visits to services in Swindon to highlight barriers that those with learning disabilities face when accessing services

Key findings

  • Easier and quicker access for appointments to see a doctor.  Especially for those registered under Integrated Medical Holdings (IMH)

  • Better service from the Prescription Ordering Direct (POD)
  • Clarity from community transport on how eligibility is applied
  • Improvement in access to mental health services

We will continue to speak to members of the public about their experiences of health and social and feedback what we hear to providers and commissioners, with particular reference to the ongoing issues with GP appointments.

After the success of our Enter and View visits with SAM we are planning to continue working in partnership with them and visit more services in Swindon.
