Swindon Borough Council is asking for your views on four proposed priorities for the borough’s next Homelessness Strategy to see whether or not you agree with them. Find out more here.

Swindon Borough Council is looking for your views on proposed priorities for Swindon’s next Homeless Strategy. Your feedback will shape and inform their approach and strategic direction regarding homelessness over the next five years.

    The proposed priorities for our next Homeless Strategy are:

    • Prevent homelessness
    • Secure suitable accommodation
    • Partnership working and holistic approach
    • Individualised responses

    The consultation will be open for seven weeks from Monday, 16 December 2019 to Sunday, 2 February 2020.

    How do I get a fit note?

    From 1 July 2022, nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacists and physiotherapists can legally certify and issue a statement of fitness for work, or informally known as a ‘fit note’. Find out what a ‘fit note’ is, when you might need one and how to go about getting one. Previously only GPs or hospital doctors could issue fit notes.
