Healthwatch Goes Live

From 1 April 2013 we will be working to represent the views of the public around health and social care in Swindon.

Healthwatch Swindon has now gone live.  From 1 April, Parkwood Healthcare is the Service Partner to the newly formed Healthwatch Swindon.

We will be supporting the formation of the first Healthwatch board, following which we will support the board in assessing and implementing its strategies.

On a day-to-day basis we will be here to support individuals through signposting and advocacy, responding to comments and complaints and seeking to engage with all parts of the community.

Through this work, we will influence Service Providers and Commissioners so as to better meet the needs and priorities of this area.

How do I get a fit note?

From 1 July 2022, nurses, occupational therapists, pharmacists and physiotherapists can legally certify and issue a statement of fitness for work, or informally known as a ‘fit note’. Find out what a ‘fit note’ is, when you might need one and how to go about getting one. Previously only GPs or hospital doctors could issue fit notes.
