Our NHS Complaints Advocacy Service

Are you or someone you know looking to make a complaint about an NHS service? Our advocacy service can provide some guidance and information to help you.

We provide a free, independent and confidential advocacy service to the residents of Swindon, in two specific areas:

Complaints which relate to an NHS service, including

  • Hospitals
  • GP surgeries
  • Dentists
  • Opticians
  • Ambulance Service (including private ambulance services working on behalf of the NHS)
  • Mental Health Services

Our advocate can support and guide you through the NHS complaints process, discuss your complaint with you and help you to put your complaint into a letter.

The advocate can also attend meetings with you in order to resolve the issues during the local resolution process. The advocate is also able to support should the complaint be escalated to the Parliamentary Health Service Ombudsman (PHSO).

Continuing Healthcare (CHC) funding assessment appeals

Our advocate can guide you through the CHC funding appeal process, including clarification regarding the Decision Support Tool (DST) documentation used by the Continuing Healthcare assessment team, which supports their recommendations in regard to eligibility for funding.
